Alexis DeJoria Powers to the Provisional Pole at NHRA Four-Wide Nationals

Circle K NHRA Four Wide Nationals

CONCORD, N.C. (April 28, 2023) – Alexis DeJoria powered to the provisional Funny Car pole during day one of qualifying at the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Concord, N.C. Under the zMAX Dragway lights, DeJoria clocked a stout 3.876 E.T. at 333.08 MPH aboard the Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra. Not only was the run the quickest of the day, but it also held up to be the top speed of the meet.
The Del Worsham-led DC Motorsports team has been on an impressive hot streak since the start of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, and it was only a matter of time before DeJoria would end the day with her name at the top of the timing sheets. Throughout the first four events, the team has earned the No. 2 qualifying spot three times, advanced to the semifinals twice, and currently holds the category’s best average E.T. during eliminations.
“We’ve been working towards this, and we’re really excited about how we’re running,” DeJoria said of the team’s early-season success, which has her ranked third in the point standings. “This is the best start to our season, our Bandero GR Supra is so consistent. We’ve been getting down the track when a lot of other teams haven’t, and we’ve been getting down there quickly.
“Having a good consistent race car is a huge confidence builder for our team. I kept telling the team last year when we were struggling that we were building for next year and it’s definitely paid off so far this season.”
With two more qualifying sessions scheduled for Saturday, DeJoria will be looking to maintain her position at the top of the ladder to secure her seventh No. 1 qualifier award overall, and third at the Concord, N.C. facility.
